  Artista versatile e generoso, senza schemi e riferimenti predefiniti, senza sguardi rivolti ad una forzata espressività, ha concentrato la propria ricerca in un moderno astrattismo, lirico e riservato, soffermandosi nel rapporto tra gestualità e materia, fra colore e forma, arrivando a risultati notevoli, ammirevoli per coerenza ed impatto emotivo. Dotato di un incredibile istinto per il segno e per il colore, Paolo Loschi, è un artista veloce, irruento, completamente irriflessivo quando si tratta di distribuire i pesi e gli ingombri sulla superficie della tela o del foglio di carta, ma proprio per questo i suoi lavori posseggono una sorta di primitiva bellezza, un vigore indomito, che è la conseguenza di un’ eccedenza energetica di una sovrabbondanza che è, insieme, benedetta e pericolosa: benedetta perché tutte le cose sane e importanti per la vita e l’evoluzione degli uomini nascono da uno stato d’incoscienza creativa, da una generosa disponibilità di forze; pericolosa perché la sovrabbondanza può tradursi presto in eccesso e in esagerazione.
Il parossismo è certamente una delle caratteristiche dell’arte di Paolo Loschi, il quale tende ad acutizzare alcune intuizioni estetiche, dove prendono corpo terrificanti epifanie e mostruose ibridazioni psichiche.
Possiamo trovare, ad esempio, nel ciclo “Angel de Tierra” un racconto sincopato che si va costruendo, quadro dopo quadro, tra immagini spiazzanti, segni, stranissimi animali, simboli, colori, creature fantastiche provenienti dalla notte più profonda dell’inconscio collettivo, recessi del nostro immaginario più remoto.
Capita assai di rado, nella scena del contemporaneo, di trovare artisti che abbiano completamente ridefinito lo spazio del proprio intervento visivo e concettuale secondo una logica assolutamente unitaria, del tutto autoreferente e autoconclusa, nella quale ogni elemento pare concorrere non solo a creare, compositivamente, lo spazio interno del singolo dipinto, ma anche ad aggiungere, via via, un minuscolo tassello al grande affresco del proprio inesausto immaginario.
Paolo Loschi è insieme artista di pensiero e d’istinto, di testa e di pancia, filosofo di un pensiero frattale, non lineare e volutamente discontinuo, e giocoliere delle immagini depositate nel profondo della nostra psiche, artista dalle mille anime e dagli infiniti cortocircuiti intellettuali e visivi, e descrittore, più o meno involontario, dei segreti recessi del nostro immaginario privato e collettivo.
I lavori di Paolo Loschi sono dei veri concerti pittorici. Consiglio di ascoltarli con grande attenzione, senza farsi sfuggire i passaggi dal tema centrale ai vari assolo strumentali. Con un elemento essenziale: il colore ha preso il posto delle note.

Paolo Loschi is a versatile and generous artist who does not believe in pre-defined schemes or any forced form of expression. His research revolves around a modern and personal abstractionism that privileges relationships between gestural expressiveness and matter, and also between colour and form, achieving great results both in terms of artistic consistency and emotional impact.

His earmark is his incredible talent in finding the appropriate sign and fade of colour through instinct. He works quickly and impulsively, almost without thinking when it comes to balancing and distributing items on the canvas or on a piece of paper. This is why his paintings possess such primitive beauty, an inner strength that derives from an energy surplus which is both a blessing and a danger. It is a blessing because everything important and healthy in life stems from a state of creative unconsciousness; it is dangerous because this abundance may translate into excess and exaggeration.

Paroxysm lies at the heart of Paolo Loschi’s art. His aesthetical intuitions can turn into terrifying revelations and monstrous hybrids. In his “Angel de Tierra” cycle – painting after painting – we are led to explore our collective unconscious where images, signs, strange animals, symbols, colours and fantastic creatures tell us an unsettling story that reaches deep within our psyche.

The contemporary scene has seldom generated an artist who is capable of redefining his visual intuitions with unassailable logic, where each single element – by creating its own visual space – generates the great frescos of Paolo Loschi’s imagery.

He can be a thinker and behave instinctively at the same time. He knows both how to follow his head and his gut feelings. He can be linear and discontinuous, juggling with the various dimensions of our soul and intellect. And he describes the secret recesses of our private and collective representations.

Paolo Loschi’s works are pictorial concepts. They should be “listened to”, as if they were music with a central theme and instrumental solos. And where colour has substituted for notes.

SHORT BIO

Dopo gli studi musicali ho dedicato la mia attenzione alle arti figurative.
La mia formazione è avvenuta frequentando gli ambienti veneziani nell’ambito pittorico e grafico,
per poi approfondire l’uso del colore nel sud della Spagna.
Tuttora sono molto legato al mondo musicale con il quale intesso collaborazioni quali action painting e scenografie.
Come pittore ho un buon orecchio.

Following my studies in music, I dedicate my attention to the figurative arts.
My artistic development stemmed from my observance of the pictorical and grafic in my Venetian surroundings, whereas my use of color is influenced by southern Spain.
To this day I am still tied to music, enganging in collaborations through action painting and scenography.
As a painter, I have a good ear
